Spelling Rules Exceptions for ED and ING: Words with a Silent E

About this Worksheet:

We add -ed and -ing to some words, such as verbs, to change the meaning a little. We treat words that end with a silent e a little differently. We simply add a d to make those words end in -ed. But if we want to add -ing, we drop the silent e and then add the -ing. This worksheet will help students better understand the exception to the spelling rule for words with a silent e.
