Spelling Rule Exceptions for Plural Nouns: Words That End in X and Z

Plural Nouns Worksheet:

To make an English noun plural, we usually (but not always!) add an s to the end of the noun. An exception to this rule is when a word ends in the letter x or the letter z. We add -es to words that end in x. For words that end in zz, we add -es. For words that end in one z, we usually add -zes. Use this worksheet to help students learn how to make a noun plural by adding the correct suffix!
