Circle it! Compound Predicates

About this Grammar Worksheet:

What is a compound predicate? A compound predicate is two or more verbs or verb phrases that share the same subject and are joined by a conjunction. In this printable worksheet activity, students will be asked to circle the number of the sentences that have a compound predicate. For example, does the following sentence have a compound predicate? The puppy howled and cried all night. Because the verbs “howled” and “cried” share the same subject, “puppy”, there is a compound predicate. This classroom activity on compound predicates is great for 3rd – 5th grade students learning about parts of a sentence. Ideal for 3rd – 5th grade, but can be used where felt needed.
