About this Grammar Worksheet:
What is a complete predicate? A complete predicate includes not only the verb or verb phrase in a sentence, but also all the words that give more information about it. For example, take a look at the following sentence: Tamara adopted a new puppy. Can you find the complete predicate? Ask yourself what the subject, Tamara, does or is and you will have the complete predicate. For this example, the complete predicate is “adopted a new puppy” because it explains what Tamara did. In this printable worksheet, students will be asked to read through the given sentences and circle the number of the sentences that have a complete predicate. This is an ideal worksheet for 3rd – 5th grade, but can be used where felt appropriate. To download and print the complete predicate worksheet, click the link below.
