Types of Sentences Worksheets

There are three types of sentence structures: simple, complex, and compound. A simple sentence has only one independent clause. Complex ones have one independent clause and one dependent clause. The compound type has two or more independent clauses. A student who is adept at identifying the type of sentence will find punctuation, especially comma usage, much easier. The worksheets below may be viewed by clicking on the title of the worksheet. You’ll see additional details and will be able to download the printable PDF. They are free for you to use at home or in the classroom.
