2nd Grade CCSS: Speaking and Listening

For second graders, this Common Core area helps students gain mastery of speaking and listening skills related to the language arts. Collaborative work, oral presentations, and the ability to integrate media, digital tools and group projects are the cornerstones of this area. Among the complete standards for this grade, second graders will be asked to: participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners in small and large groups, follow general rules for discussions, recount or describe key ideas and details from an oral presentation or text read aloud, ask and answer questions to increase comprehension, create recordings of stories or poems.
